An Adelaide mother who documented her descent into poverty says she had to resort to eating out of bins as she struggled to pay her bills.

Rita Sacchetta recently began a social media diary of sorts, counting down the days until she was due to be evicted from a Munno Para West home because she could no longer afford the rent.
